Voices From The Courts 2016

A unique cross-sector collaboration among the arts, legal and the judiciary community. Jack Tan, a London-based Singaporean artist, undertook the first ever artist residency at the Singapore courts. He explored the soundscape of the courts and transformed it into graphic scores, which were performed by the ACJC Alumni choir. The structural effect of this art-law encounter helped raise awareness and enhanced public understanding towards the LiPs' "Voices from the Courts". Photo credits: Olivia Kwok

Art & Law Question Time

In today's context, art and law are closely intertwined and it has become increasingly essential for artists to equip themselves with legal knowledge so as to level the playing field when negotiating with collaborators, landlords and/or sponsors. Preceding the "Voices from the Courts" showcase, artist, Jack Tan, convened a panel of experts from both the legal and arts community to share their experiences and knowledge in an interactive Q&A format.
